Virgil Flowers @ The Whisky A GO GO 08/06/21

On the occasion of the grand opening of The Whisky a Go Go club, which Virgil Flowers built and designed with his partner Roxy, I once again took part in one of his concerts. Friends and fans of the SL musician who has been known for years were invited. The location was so well attended that sometimes there was no access. Roxy kindly supported me to get to my goal and thank you very much again! The idea for The Whisky and Go Go was the famous Originals Club on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. With a lot of work and attention to detail, they have achieved something spectacular that is very close to the original. The ambience inside and outside is with the many old posters, billboards, exhibited guitars and with the light and fog effects like in a real club from the 60s. Congratulations for the opening, the club is a further gain for SL and I will certainly stop by more often. Virgil has been making music since his earliest childhood and has performed rock blues and jazz on various stages across the country in RL. In SL he has shown us his love for electric rock and blues for many years, although he can always be heard live and occasionally changes his guitars. Last night he played the following tracks: Hero of David Bowie Come together from the Beatles Hoochie coochie man in the version of Muddy Waters Here Comes My Girl by Tom Petty, Cocaine by Eric Clapton Lie To Me by Johnny Lang Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams My Best Friend's Girl from The cars Sloe Gin from Joe Bonamassa The Thrill Is Gone by B.B. King Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin Listen To Her Heart by Tom Petty Virgil makes every song he interprets his own, he plays with so much devotion and literally merges with his instrument. His solos let me drift away every time, it's relaxing and at the same time inspiring to listen to him. His way of playing the blues in particular is unique. And as I have written before and nothing has changed, through his energy, love and devotion to music and at the same time his sexy charisma, for me he embodies the symbol of a rock musician as it is written in the books. Rock on Virgil! Don't miss one of his next concerts! ** translated from German **
